Speaking for Liberally-minded Male kind…

Reading about the dysfunctional, waste-of-skin degenerate pigs that produce pornography makes me angry and somewhat ill.  I didn’t need a news story or blog entry to tell me that the guy behind ‘Girls Gone Wild’ is a sack of shit. I know that this is a man that truly dislikes (and perhaps even hates) himself and objectifies women so that he feels like “more of man.”
I’ve always had mixed feelings about pornography.  And now that I’m the father of a little girl that will one day be a grown woman, the morality of porn has began troubling me more so.   I won’t go into a long diatribe about whether it objectifies women or in some cases, actually liberates them because frankly, I really have no idea.  I’ve always felt like somewhat of a fool when I try talking to someone on the matter because one of the first things that little voice inside of me says is, “So a MAN is gonna set the records straight, eh?” ( Feminism planted the seed of guilt in me many years back.)  I’ve always been under the impression that the…models (??) that appear in the magazines, videos and websites were doing so for two reasons:

1.) Money is good.

2.) The task required for the money really didn’t upset any of their morals.  I’m not in any way implying that they lack morals (that would be a different discussion altogether) just that they don’t see a problem with what they’re being asked to do in exchange for cash.

It has dawned on me recently that the above beliefs are rather naive of me.  And so, I confess my male-stupidity on the subject.

I was about to comment on how looking at porn is like smoking cigarettes; you know it’s probably not the best thing to do with your time but hey, you’ll stop eventually and what harm is there in this one time anyways?  But upon further consideration, there are probably many people (both male AND female, I might add) they would scoff at this statement.

I don’t know where I’m going with this and I didn’t really have any plans when I started writing this.  I encourage readers to comment on this if they have something they want to add to this.  Any post on things even remotely political seem to garner the least amount of feedback.
